Indications

Wedica 50 Tablet is used for: Indicated for, type 2 diabetes, when the first line treatment of metformin is not achieving the expected glycemic goals.

Adult Dose

Oral Adult Tablet One 100mg tablet once weekly

Child Dose

Renal Dose

Renal Failure Moderate Creatinine Clearance 30-<50: 50 mg once weekly.

Administration

Should be taken once weekly and same day every week.

Precautions

Patients with moderate kidney function disease. Hypoadrenalism or Hypopituitarism Malnutrition, irregular eating patterns, starvation Vigorous exercise This drug may cause hypoglycemia when used with other diabetes medication

Side effects of Trelagliptin : Hypoglycemia, nasopharyngitis, elevated lipase. Acute pancreatitis, intestinal obstruction, atrial fibrillation, elevated liver enzyme

Mechanism of Action

It works by inhibiting the activity of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 Trelagliptin inactivates glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) from secretion from the intestines to the blood via stimulation from oral intake of food, increases GLP-1 blood concentration and promotes blood glucose concentration-dependent insulin secretion from the pancreas.
