Indications

Pentaxim Injection is used for: Haemophilus influenzae type B, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis

Adult Dose

Child Dose

Primary Immunization Primary Vaccination: 3 doses given at an interval of 1-2 months with booster 1 year after the primary vaccination around 16-18 months of age.

Contra Indications

Progressive encephalopathies with or without convulsions.

Precautions

Fever, acute illness, progressive chronic disease.

Pregnancy-Lactation

Pregnancy Category: C Lactation: Not known if excreted in breast milk

Mechanism of Action

Production of specific antibodies to tetanus, diphtheria, and pertusis (active immunity). Conveys active immunity via stimulation of production of endogenously produced antibodies
