Indications
Ovocal-MOM Tablet is used for:
Calcium & Nutrient deficiency, Calcium & Vitamin deficiency
Adult Dose
Oral
Post-natal Calcium & Nutrient deficiency, Calcium & Vitamin deficiency for lactating mothers to ensure balanced intake of calcium along with essential vitamins & minerals for child's development.
Adult: One tablet in the morning and one tablet at night.

Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
Hypercalciuria
Hypersensitivity to the component of this preparation
Precautions
When hypercalcemia occurs, discontinuation of the drug is required.
Patients with a history of kidney stone formation should also be recommended to increase their fluid intake.
Impaired calcium absorption in achlorhydria which is common in elderly.
Increased risk of hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria in hypoparathyroid patients receiving high doses of vitamin D.
Caution when using in patients with history of kidney stones.
Renal impairment; frequent monitoring of serum calcium and phosphorus is recommended.
Pregnancy-Lactation
Supplement calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy and lactation according to the recommended daily allowance
Lactation: Distributed in human breast milk
This is safe to take during pregnancy at the recommended doses.
However, during pregnancy the daily dose should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 600 IU of vitamin D. Animal studies have shown toxic effects on reproduction at high doses of vitamin D.
In pregnant women, all calcium or vitamin D overdoses must be avoided as prolonged hypercalcemia in pregnancy may lead to retardation of physical and mental development, supravalvular aortic stenosis and retinopathy in the child. There are no indications that Vitamin D3 at therapeutic doses is teratogenic in humans.

It has possible interaction with digoxin
Adverse Effects
Side effects of Calcium (Eggshell) + Vitamin D3 + Vitamins + Minerals :
Common Side Effects: Generally orally administered Calcium Carbonate may be irritating to the Gl tract and it may also cause constipation but eggshell Calcium is safe for long term use without causing any Gl discomfort or constipation.
Mechanism of Action
Calcium plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary for normal functioning of bone, nerve cells, muscle and other vital organs and regulatory system of the body. If there is not enough Calcium in the blood, then the body will take Calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones and triggers different types of bone disorder.
Vitamin D3 helps the body to absorb Calcium. Having the right amounts of Calcium and Vitamin D3 is important for building and keeping strong bones and healthy muscle. Magnesium also increases bone strength and rigidity.
Vitamin A Maintain good vision and healthy skin, nails and hair. Vitamin E functions as a tissue antioxidant, thereby keeping cells healthy. Vitamin C plays a role in maintaining healthy gums, skin and connective tissue. Folic acid plays a role in the metabolism of cell division and in the regeneration of blood and cells. Iron helps maintain heathy red blood cells, which plays a role in oxygen. Selenium boost up immune system. Vitamin B6 is required for the production of energy from protein, fat & carbohydrate. Biotin helps to grow healthy skin & hair. Pantothenic acid helps maintain healthy skin and mucous membranes.
