Indications
Merison Tablet is used for:
Meniere's disease, tinnitus, vertigo, dizziness
Adult Dose
Adults : 1 to 2 tablets three times per day after meals.
Child Dose
Renal Dose
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contra Indications
Phaeochromocytoma. Porphyria.
Precautions
Active peptic ulcer, bronchial asthma, pregnancy and lactation.
Pregnancy-Lactation
Interactions
May antagonise antihistamines. May decrease bronchodilator effects of beta-2 agonists.
Adverse Effects
Side effects of Betahistine Mesilate :
Rash, pruritus, urticaria, dyspepsia, nausea, peptic ulcer disease, headache, insomnia.
Mechanism of Action
Betahistine improves the microcirculation in the labyrinth which reduces endolymphatic pressure.
