Indications

Merison Tablet is used for: Meniere's disease, tinnitus, vertigo, dizziness

Adult Dose

Adults : 1 to 2 tablets three times per day after meals.

Child Dose

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Contra Indications

Phaeochromocytoma. Porphyria.

Precautions

Active peptic ulcer, bronchial asthma, pregnancy and lactation.

Pregnancy-Lactation

Interactions

May antagonise antihistamines. May decrease bronchodilator effects of beta-2 agonists.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Betahistine Mesilate : Rash, pruritus, urticaria, dyspepsia, nausea, peptic ulcer disease, headache, insomnia.

Mechanism of Action

Betahistine improves the microcirculation in the labyrinth which reduces endolymphatic pressure.
