Indications

Emolent Cream is used for: Dry skin, Cracked feet, Infantile eczema

Adult Dose

Topical For general use as an emollient/moisturizer in the symptomatic relief of dry skin conditions. Ointment Apply a thin film of the ointment to the affected area of the skin, in the direction of hair growth, as required. Repeat as necessary. Ideally, the product should be applied three or four times a day or at least twice a day. In adults, where a large area of the body is affected, up to 500 g a week may be used. Apply to the affected area and rub in well. Use as often as required. Cream Used as often as required. Apply to the affected area and rub in well. It is especially effective after washing when the sebum content of the stratum corneum may be depleted resulting in excessive moisture loss. Emollient Add to bath or apply to wet skin. Bath: 1-3 capfuls to 8-inch bath water, soak for 10-20 min. Bar Using very little water, make a rich lather, massage & cleanse affected areas. Use as often as required.

Child Dose

Topical For general use as an emollient/moisturizer in the symptomatic relief of dry skin conditions. Lotion Infant bath: Add ½-2 capful to a wash basin of water. Cream Used as often as required. Apply to the affected area and rub in well. It is especially effective after washing when the sebum content of the stratum corneum may be depleted resulting in excessive moisture loss. Ointment Apply a thin film of the ointment to the affected area of the skin, in the direction of hair growth, as required. Repeat as necessary. Bar Using very little water, make a rich lather, massage & cleanse affected areas. Use as often as required.

Renal Dose

Administration

Apply to skin: Wet the skin & rub in a small quantity of emollient. Rinse & pat dry.

Contra Indications

Acne or greasy skin.

Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.

Pregnancy-Lactation

The safety of White Soft Paraffin and Liquid Paraffin during pregnancy and lactation has not been established, but use during this periods is not considered to constitute a hazard.

Interactions

May impair absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and possibly other compounds.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Light Liquid Paraffin + White Soft Paraffin topical : Transient burning or irritation.

Mechanism of Action

When used topically: softens and hydrates skin.
